Your roof is typically a good candidate for rejuvenation if it passes three checks: it is not currently leaking, it is roughly 10 to 20 years old, and it has 5 or fewer missing shingles.

Check 1: No active leaks

Look for water stains on ceilings or in the attic after rain. Rejuvenation is meant for roofs that are not leaking.

Check 2: Roughly 10 to 20 years old

Closing paperwork, permits or the previous owner can often tell you when the roof was installed. Shingles in this age range are typically a good fit.

Check 3: 5 or fewer missing shingles

From the ground, count any gaps where shingles are gone. Do not climb onto the roof to check.
